Wordpress App for iPhone Out

07.23.08 // Gadget Mania //Comments

Just writing this post with the brand new wordpress app for iPhone, which was released just hours ago. I could not think of an easier installation, it just worked with the URL and the login. The UI is as simple as the installation…

This app instantly jumped into my favorite app list. Which reminds me of my plan of Sharing this favorite list here. Still at work I guess :)

iPhone 3G Jailbreak Software “Pwnage” released

07.20.08 // Gadget Mania //Comments

The “iphone-dev-team” officially announced the new release of their new Pwnage Tool which now supports (partly*) the 2.0 software. For the first time, they make an important difference between “unlocking” and “jailbreaking“. “Unlocking” means, that you are able to use the unlocked iPhone within other carrier-networks, when “jailbreaking” means, that you are able to install other applications than from the original iPhone app store.

* explaining “partly”:

to figure out, what the Pwnage Tool is able to do with your device, it depends on what you own:

  • first generation iPhone with software 2.0:  jailbreaking and unlocking
  • iPod touch with software 2.0: jailbreaking (no unlock needed)
  • iPhone 3G: ONLY jailbreaking (unlocking still in work)

I’m still waiting for some brave beta testers to share their experiences… Did you try it? Then leave a comment :-)

Tweaking my Wordpress Blog

07.10.08 // Allgemein //Comments

When setting up this blog, it was supposed to be only a short period installation. Just for documenting our trip. The idea of an own blog, where I am writing about stuff I care about, is growing for a long time now, but it never reached the point I actually did it. Well, there were several installations, but they never really went live.

Things changed… this blog is going to stay. At least for now :-) I’ll give it a try…

Obviously, I changed the blog back from “vacation mode” to normal… with fresh look and feel, but still there is missing a lot. To point out just some of the To Do’s: adding content, tweaking the theme, creating the blogroll and especially adding some essential plugins.

Identifying and selecting the plugins can be quite difficult… there are just so many out there. Still, I’m not sure which plugins I am finally going to install. Which ones do you use? Please let me know of your favourite plugins, the ones you love and those you cannot live without :-)

I let you know of the final configuration :-)
