I am surprised how often people don’t know those very usefull google search operators. You don’t have to be a SEO or other wep expert to make them useful to you. They will narrow your search results and they will get more relevant. In short, you will save time and nerves by using these little helpers provided from google.

If you want to optimize your page in the Google SERPs, these tools help you in different SEO purposes, for example diagnose seo issues, identify relevant keywords, analyse your neighborhood, etc. etc.

On-Page SEO for Beginners – Google Search Engine Optimization

These (German) Slides are part of a full day SEO – Coaching I did last week :) No rocket science, but from the very Beginning of how Search Engines work. Great if you don’t know much about SEO, then you get a broad overview of how and what you can do yourself (on your Site/On-Site) to improve your Google Ranking.

Off Page Optimization / Link Building etc. was not part of this session.

You can find events as a list or as an iCal calendar, which you can import to your iCal compatible client (Outlook 2007, iCal, iPhone…)

Trip to Indonesia

I’ve created a seperate blog for our trip to Indonesia. Caro and I are traveling from Singapore to Indonesia, visiting several places there, moving from Surabaya to the east. If we’ve got some time left, we’re trying to visit Malaysia for a few days, before coming home end of January.

For many bloggers this is nothing new. But according to Technorati, over 175.000 new blogs are created every day, many of them without feeburner support. Finally I found the time to burne the feed of this blog, too. Hope everything works :-)

What is feedburner?

Feedburner republishes your blog’s RSS feed to make it much friendlier, more powerful and more useful. Most important is the statistics feature, which gives you detailed information about your RSS readers. Information which isn’t covered by any other analytics tool.

Golf Mallorca

Eine Sportart, die bei mir noch auf der Liste der zukünftigen Projekte steht ist “Golf”. Fast schon zu schön um war zu sein, dass ein Freund seit kurzem einen wunderschönen Golfplatz auf Mallorca eröffnet hat: der Golfplatz “Golf Son Gual Mallorca“. Samt Golfschule, Golf Restaurant und Wellness Bereich, bietet der Golfclub nicht nur alles was das Herz begehrt, er zeigt die Insel Mallorca auch von ihrer ganz besonders schönen Seite. Einmal durfte ich auf Golf Son Gual Mallorca schon ein paar (hundert) Golf Bälle die Driving-Range runter bolzen :) Was für ein riesen Spaß. Ein fetzen Muskelkater und ein kaum zu übersehender Sonnenbrand waren hierbei zwei nur zu gern akzeptierte Souvenirs. An alle Golf und Mallorca Fans unter euch, Golf Son Gual Mallorca ist mein ganz persönlicher Tipp :)

Tweaking my Wordpress Blog

When setting up this blog, it was supposed to be only a short period installation. Just for documenting our trip. The idea of an own blog, where I am writing about stuff I care about, is growing for a long time now, but it never reached the point I actually did it. Well, there were several installations, but they never really went live.

Things changed… this blog is going to stay. At least for now :-) I’ll give it a try…

Obviously, I changed the blog back from “vacation mode” to normal… with fresh look and feel, but still there is missing a lot. To point out just some of the To Do’s: adding content, tweaking the theme, creating the blogroll and especially adding some essential plugins.

Identifying and selecting the plugins can be quite difficult… there are just so many out there. Still, I’m not sure which plugins I am finally going to install. Which ones do you use? Please let me know of your favourite plugins, the ones you love and those you cannot live without :-)

I let you know of the final configuration :-)
